How will you be setting your Christmas table?

I’ve been practicing my Calligraphy again, Christmas is such a good time to practice, there’s a lot of things to write about 😁….. Christmas carols, cards, present labels…..and table settings…..

Which brings me neatly to my latest practice;

I created these place cards using cream coloured, textured card.

The shiny red bars were created using craft foil.

I cut a piece of double sided tape to length, then tore it in half, with one side slightly wider than the other.

I placed the smaller piece on the name card and the wider piece on the main card and then applied the craft foil by pressing it down onto the tape.

I then wrote out the name and sentiments using Finetec Watercolour ink in Inca Gold. I used my dip pen with my Leondart 256 nib.

The set is then finished off with a piece of ribbon joined using a wax seal.

The wax is red and the seal is a Christmas tree πŸŽ„πŸ˜

It was good fun to make these. I’m thinking about mocking up some wedding ones in the new year, maybe even to sell eventually. We shall see what the new year brings.

Thank you for reading and Happy crafting πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ„

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I thought I would share some of my recent Christmas calligraphy for a little festive cheer.

I wrote this out on an envelope to send as part of a larger package.

I converted the picture to black and white using the Hootsuite Enhance photo app.

I enjoyed writing this πŸŽ„πŸ˜Š
