An evolving style – my social media pictures of my cardmaking

Hello 🙋🏻.

My craft fair preparations continue; handmade card manufacture is well underway and I am slowly but surely building up stocks.

I’ve even made a start on the Christmas crafts (it’s February as I write this post 😁)

As I have been making my cards I have been taking pictures and posting them to my Instagram account

A few weeks ago I wrote a post sharing my hints and tips for photo staging

As I have been photographing my card ideas I have been experimenting with various layouts and accessories;

Just my calligraphy pen and my pen holder Bert.

My watercolour paint pallet, a paintbrush and good old Bert.

I’ve even thrown in a ribbon here and there too.

The purple card stock I have been using for the background can sometimes be quite dark, especially if I am photographing my cards in the evening.

So I thought I would try something different with my latest pictures.

I thought I would try a white base card stock, but I really wanted to keep the purple element as it’s ‘me’, so I added a piece of lighter purple paper under my calligraphy piece.

I also added a couple of wax seals that I had been experimenting with earlier in the day and a bit of plastic greenery I’ve bought.

I’m really pleased with how the picture has come out. I think this might be the next evolution of my social media style 😂

Cardmaking will continue as I need to make a lot of cards for the craft fair, so that the table I have booked doesn’t look bare 😬

I’m having fun making things though and I will keep posting my progress here on my blog.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and happy crafting!

  1. Nice idea with the plant in the photo 😊👍🏻 I like the combination of purple, white and green, it gives some contrast but goes together nicely 😊 well done on the craft fair preparations, too! Keep it up 😊 x

      1. I have seen it just now – thank you 😘 That is really sweet 😊 I will be adding links to blogs I follow once I figure out the plugins and theme thing, I am not ecstatic about the current ones 😉 And Ikea is good for so many things! Including crafts😁
